The Blue Angels will be headlining the 2013 Oregon International Air Show presented by Standard TV & Appliance. The Blue Angels are known for their precision formation flying and are a crowd favorite throughout the world. At the show, they will be flying their six distinctive blue and gold F-18 Hornets and will be accompanied by their C-130 support aircraft “Fat Albert” that will also be performing at the show.
The Blue Angels will be led by Blue Angel #1, United States Navy Commander Tom Frosch. Tom joined the Blue Angels as Commanding Officer in November 2012. He has more than 3,000 flight hours and 830 carrier arrested landings. His decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, two Meritorious Service Medals, two Individual Air Medals with Combat “V” (Six Strike Flight), three Navy Commendation Medals, one with Combat “V,” and numerous unit, campaign and service awards.
