AH-1S Cobra
Olympic Flight Museum
Introduced in 1967, the Cobras were used by the Army during the Tet offensive in 1968 all the way through the Vietnam War. They provided essential fire support for ground forces and escorted other aircraft, among other roles. Thanks to their durability and success in combat the Cobras racked up over one million operational hours in Vietnam. The U.S. Army officially retired the Cobras in 1999.
