P-40E Kittyhawk

Erickson Aircraft Collection

The P-40 is a WII-era aircraft. While it did not stand out from some of the other aircraft flying at the time, it did gain a reputation for being rugged and available when needed. It served in most fronts of the war. By the time production of the P-40 ended in 1944, over 13,700 P-40s had been built.

The Erickson Aircraft Collection’s P-40 was operated by the RAF and was delivered to them in Nov. 1941. It was dropped from inventory in 1946. Prior to being acquired by Erickson Aircraft Collection, it was restored a few times due to it’s age and damage sustained by a forced landing. Erickson Aircraft Collection got this P-40 in April 2017.
